Novak Djokovic vs Denis Shapovalov – Shapovalov to Win a Set – Yes @ 2.17

Caelum

Wimbledon is reaching its final stages, with some mouthwatering matchups on the way. One of these is current world no.1 Novak Djokovic taking on the young Canadian starlet Denis Shapovalov. The Serbian is coming off a relatively comfortable win in the quarter finals over Marton Fucsovics, whilst Shapovalov went the distance to get into the final four against Karen Khachanov. Novak goes into this match as a huge favourite, and anyone with half a brain would be confident in him winning it all. On the flip side, Shapovalov is a resilient player who, in spite of the odds, will walk onto the court on Friday knowing a win would not just get him into his first Grand Slam Final, but he’d have a strong chance at taking it all down. This is considering the fact that Mattero Berrettini and Hubert Hurkacz, both of whom are high-quality players in their own right, would also be in their first Grand Slam Final and would be favourable opponents to someone like a Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal or even Alexander Zverev. Although we fully expect Novak to win here, he has the best winning record on grass courts and has averaged at least one set against the Djoker in the last four times he has lost to him. Considering what’s at stake (pun intended), Shapovalov will fight tooth and nail in spite of his five-set thriller yesterday and we’ll back him in. 1 unit.

Italy vs England – Italy to win the cup @ 1.97

Jarrod

Is it coming home, or is it coming home to Rome? You can’t deny how good both of these sides have been throughout the tournament – with the English going from sluggish to stylish, and the Italians cruising their way into the final with class. I’ll be backing Italy here – I think defensively they will be too strong for the nippy English wingers. What is it now that Italy have been undefeated? 30+ games? I can’t see this ending just yet. 1 unit.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Phoenix Suns – Game 2 – Winner incl. Overtime – Milwaukee @ 2.85

Dollarscost

This is a Finals series that absolutely no one would have predicted prior to the season starting. After Game 1 where the Suns had a pretty clear lead for the majority of the contest, the Bucks will be looking for revenge and will not go down 2-0 in the series lightly. Giannis proved in the first matchup that he’s certainly healthy enough to get through the series – something that Milwaukee will certainly need him to do if they stand a chance of winning. In Game 1, the two-time MVP had 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists on 55% shooting – given the loss, we expect him to come out angry and firing to have a huge Game 2 and drag the Bucks to victory. Phoenix are the deserved favourite to win the title given their current 1-0 series lead, but are they dominant at home? This fixture will be played in Phoenix just like the first matchup, and part of the reason for the Suns’ short price as favourites is the fact that they’re the home team. Previously in this playoffs, they’ve dropped home matches to both the Clippers and Lakers – neither of whom are better teams than Milwaukee. Quite simply, we love the price here on Milwaukee – they’re a better chance to win than these odds suggest. 1 unit.

CSGO – IEM Cologne 2021, Ninjas in Pyjamas vs Liquid – Winner – Ninjas in Pyjamas @ 1.66

Alex

Nip (No. 5 World Rank) has recently performed well beating LDLC and Mousesports with relative ease, earning their way into the main draw through the play-in stage. In contrast, Liquid has not taken part in any major events recently and has consequently slipped a few ranks to No. 15 in the world ranking. Their last performance was in May against FURIA, beating them 3:1. Due to their lack of matches during the whole of June, Nip seems to be the way to go in this matchup. 1 unit.

Argentina vs Brazil – Goal Range – 2-3 @ 1.96

Nick

Brazil enter the game slight favourites, but neither team has been convincing their last couple of games. Both teams relying heavily on their star players (Neymar, Messi), especially in the case of Argentina, where Messi has either scored or assisted all of their goals in this tournament so far. Given their rivalry, and the high stakes, we can expect a gruelling game with not a heap of goals scored. Their last 5 head-to-head clashes have seen only one side score. 1 unit.

Scottish Open 2021 – 72 Hole Match Bet 10 – Tommy Fleetwood @ 2.00

CBod

Fleetwood shown a return to form with a 17th place finish in Ireland last week. He excels on Links courses: 2nd here last year, 2nd in The Open Championship in 2019 and twice being runner-up in the Alfred Dunhill Links. This is no surprise when you look at where he grew up in Southport. A region of the UK awash with links courses, including Hillside, where he finished 8th in the 2019 British Masters. You also have to go back to 2018 to find the last time he missed a cut on the European Tour. Expect him to build on that performance in Ireland last week with an eye on The Open next week and the other on the Olympics. This bet is because Fleetwood is in his element on Links courses in Britain, as opposed to anti-Scheffler. He’s been in great form, which includes 7th at the US Open, but this is the Texan’s 1st time in Scotland Vs a proven performer here in Fleetwood. To be the fav. coming from hometown of Dallas at 70% humidity, to the 24hrs of frost warning on Thursday in Berwick — this looks a great bet. 2 units.

Dota 2 – Team Nigma vs OG – Total Maps Over 2.5 @ 1.91

Potentially the Grand Final and the most hyped up match for the TI qualifiers is the eventual meeting between these two teams. Both teams were off to a rocky start, losing their first map but then eventually taking the next two maps in their first matches. They’re probably dusting off the cobwebs after more than two weeks of no competitive matches or it’s a sign that even elite teams are prone to mistakes. From what I’ve seen, both these teams know how to capitalize on mistakes, but also get back from it which is why I’m expecting this match to go the distance. 1 unit.

Tai Tuivasa v Greg Hardy – Tuivasa by decision @ 5.40

Brad

This is a massive chance for the big boys to impress in what will be the biggest MMA audience of the year. A win for Tai Tuivasa will see the Aussie move into the top-15 while Greg Hardy getting his hand lifted will add some much-needed legitimacy to his Octagon career. After a barren run, Bam Bam is well and truly back with two impressive wins, both coming via stoppages. It was was his fists that did the business on those occasions but expect his legs to do the damage against Hardy. The former NFL man has taken a lot of damage to the lead leg in previous fights so we anticipate Tuiavasa’s elite kickboxing skills to further exploit this. Tuivasa’s all-round MMA game will prove too much for his opponent, although Hardy can take this fight to the distance. 1 unit.

Community Tip

This week’s Community Tip comes from Alex20031 who has chosen the following.

Colombia vs Peru – Colombia @ 1.91

Although Colombia are yet to fully get going in the Copa America this year, Peru looked fairly poor against Brazil, and this could be the best opportunity for La Tricolor to record a convincing win to build momentum for the final eight. With their place in the quarter-finals all but sealed, they will look to avoid dropping into the lower spots which could draw them against Argentina or Uruguay in the first knockout round, instead battling hard to ensure a top-two finish.
